Polytetrahydrofuran is a white waxy solid that is soluble in alcohols, esters, ketones, aromatics and chlorinated hydrocarbons and insoluble in ester hydrocarbons and water. It becomes a clear liquid when the temperature exceeds room temperature.

-Application

lytetrahydrofuran is mainly used as the soft chain segment of block polyurethane or block polyether polyester to produce polyurethane elastomer, polyurethane elastic fiber and ester ether copolymer elastomer.

2.Block polyurethane rubber prepared from polytetrahydrofuran with an average molecular weight of 1000 can be used as tire, drive belt, gasket, etc. Can also be used in paint, artificial leather, film, etc.

3.The block polyether polyesters prepared are thermoplastic elastomers. Polytetrahydrofuran with an average molecular weight of 2000 can be used to prepare polyurethane elastic fibers.

4.It has been reported that block polyurethane made from polytetrahydrofuran has good anticoagulation and can be used as medical polymer material.
