Polyaluminium chloride (PAC) is high-efficient, cheap and nontoxic inorganic high molecular compound. It's easily soluble in water. In the hydrolytic process, it is accompanied with the chemical processes such as electrochemistry, coagulation, absorption and precipitation. The product has the features including wide applicable range of PH value, large granule and quick speed in sedimentation. It's widely used in treating the domestic drinking water, domestic sewage and industrial waste water.

Aluminum chloride is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula AlCl3, which is a compound of chlorine and aluminum. Diphenylchromium, for example, is prepared via Fischer-Hafner synthesis of specific metal halides.

Physical properties

Aluminum chloride, white crystalline powder, has a strong hydrochloric acid smell, and the industrial product is light yellow. Soluble in water, alcohol, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, slightly soluble in benzene. Molten aluminum chloride does not conduct electricity easily, unlike most salts containing halide ions such as sodium chloride. Aluminum chloride sublimes at 178°C, and its vapor is an associated bimolecular. It can absorb moisture in the air, and part of it will be hydrolyzed to release hydrogen chloride.

Aluminum chloride is colorless transparent crystal or white crystalline powder with slight yellowish tinge. It is easy to absorb water and partly hydrolyze to release hydrogen chloride to form acid mist. Soluble in water and strong hydrolysis, the solution is acidic. Also soluble in ethanol and ether, while releasing a lot of heat.

Use

1. Used as a catalyst and detergent for organic synthesis, and used in medicine, pesticides, dyes, spices, plastics, lubricating oil and other industries.

2. Used as analytical reagents, preservatives, and mordants as catalysts for organic synthesis, such as petroleum cracking, synthetic dyes, synthetic rubber, synthetic detergents, medicines, spices, etc.

3. Used in the production of pesticides, organoaluminum compounds, catalysts for phthalocyanine-based organic pigments, and catalysts for ethylbenzene production. It is also used in metal smelting and lubricant synthesis. Food-grade products are used as leavening agents, anti-discoloration agents such as sake and pectin flocculants.

4. Leavening agent; anti-discoloration agent such as sake, dosage ≤0.1g/L (calculated as anhydrous matter) or ≤0.18g/L (calculated as hexahydrate); pectin flocculant.

5. Mainly used in digestive agents for organic synthesis, synthetic dyes, medicines, etc.
