Barium sulfate is a colorless crystal with a high melting point and no solubility. It is virtually insoluble in water and does not dissolve readily in acid or alkali solutions. Barium sulfate is dense and has good chemical stability.

Barium sulphate improves all remodelable properties and guarantees product safety due to the absence of harmful substances, in addition to acid and alkali resistance and good weathering properties. It has a stabilizing effect on both inorganic and organic pigments. It also maintains permanent stability and reduces product costs.

It is widely used as a filler in powder coatings, industrial paints, storage batteries, enamels, the leather industry, the printing and dyeing industry, inks and plastic materials, as well as photographic paper, and has been used quite successfully in adhesives, coatings and sealants.
