Potassium dihydrogen phosphate, an inorganic compound with chemical formula KH2PO4, is deliquescent, melts to a transparent liquid when heated to 400°C, and solidifies to an opaque, glassy potassium metaphosphate when cooled. Stable in air, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. It is used as buffer and culture agent in industry, and also used as bacterial culture agent, flavouring agent for synthetic sake, raw material for making potassium metaphosphate, culture agent, fortifier, bulking agent and fermentation aid for brewing yeast, and used as high efficient phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer in agriculture.

First aid measures

Inhalation: If inhaled, move the patient to fresh air. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration. Consult a doctor.

Skin contact: flush with soap and plenty of water. Consult a doctor.

EYE CONTACT: Flush eyes with water as a precaution.

Ingestion: Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a doctor.
