Main applications

Application 1: The main applications of disperse dyes are in the dyeing of polyester (polyester), acetate (divinyl and trivinyl) and polyamide (nylon) fibres and, to a lesser extent, polyacrylonitrile (acrylic acid). Chemical fiber textile products printed with disperse dyes are widely used because of their rich color and good washing fastness. 

Application 2: Because of  it is insoluble in water, it has no dyeing ability for cotton, hemp, wool and silk in natural fibers, and almost no dyeing for viscose fibers, so chemical fiber blended fabrics usually need to be dyed with disperse dyes and other applicable dyes.

Development prospect

New developments have been made in the use of disperse dyes: 

(1) multi-component disperse dyes, usually composed of two (or three or four) disperse dyes mixed in a certain proportion, which can improve the dyeing rate due to the synergistic effect of dyes. 

(2) Transfer printing, the disperse dye is made into printing ink, and then printed on the fabric, and then through high temperature press for dyeing. 

This process, also known as non-water printing, has the advantages of energy saving, time saving and convenience. 

The mixed use of disperse dyes and reactive dyes can make the mixed textiles such as polyester. 

Cotton and polyester viscose dyed in one step in one bath, which simplifies the printing and dyeing process and improves the printing and dyeing quality.
