Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (chemical formula KH2PO4) is a kind of compound fertilizer with high concentration of phosphorus and potassium, the content of P2O5 is 52%, and the content of K20 is 34%. It has low hygroscopicity, good physical properties, easily soluble in water, containing 23g per 100ml of water at 20ºC, and the aqueous solution is acidic.

[Properties] White granular crystal, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in acetone. Relative density of solid is 1.803(19°C), melting point is 190°C . Loss of ammonia and water above the melting point produces a mixture of ammonium metaphosphate and phosphoric acid. The aqueous solution is acidic, and the PH value of a 1% aqueous solution is 4.5.
[Uses] Mainly used as a flame retardant for wood, paper and fabrics, also used as an additive for flame retardant coatings and as a dry powder fire extinguishing agent. In agriculture, it is used as non-chlorine N, P binary high-efficiency compound fertilizer, with total nutrients of 73% (N+P2O5), and it is a high-quality raw material for the preparation of N, P, K ternary compound fertilizer.
